AJ Michalka Biography

Amanda Joy "AJ" Michalka (born on the 10th of April in 1991), often credited as simply AJ is an American actress, singer-songwriter, and musician. She was a model prior becoming an actress. She is most well-known as the half of duo Aly and AJ (formerly 78Violet) along with her sister Aly Michalka. AJ recorded "It's who you are" the music video as well as the theme song for Secretariat. In the film Grace Unplugged, she also released a single and video entitled "All I've ever needed". She has also had an impressive acting career and after two seasons in the role of Lainey Lewis on The Goldbergs, an ABC sitcom The Goldbergs, she has been promoted to a regular position on the show from the duration of the third season. Michalka is the character Stevonnie in Steven Universe. The character is a blend of Steven, the protagonist, and Connie his best friend. In July 2014, she and her sister filmed untitled drama in Laurel Canyon, California. Stephen Ringer, Aly's husband directed the film and wrote the script. Michalka, along with Ringer as well as her sister, was producer and participated in the casting process. The film, Weepah way for Now was scheduled to be screened at the Los Angeles Film Festival in May of 2015. In June of 2016 the film was released on DVD and iTunes.
