She was the American women's Olympic gymnastics team captain for both the 2012 and 2016 "Fierce Five" U.S. teams. At the 2016 Olympics in Rio de Janeiro, she received a gold medal at the team event with teammates Gabby Douglas and Gabby Douglas the sole Americans with back-to-back team gold medals. Morgan was born on July 2nd, 1989 to Pamela Morgan and Michael Morgan. They raised her along with her sisters, Jeni and Jeri, in the Los Angeles suburb of Diamond Bar. Morgan played multiple sports throughout her childhood , but did not play soccer until she turned 14. After high school, she joined the Cypress Elite club team. They took home the Coast Soccer League Under-16 championship and came in third in their under-19 bracket. Morgan continued to refine her soccer skills at Diamond Bar High School.
