Renee Kathleen Zellweger

Renee Kathleen Zellweger is a daughter of Kjellfrid Andreassen an ex-midwife as well as a nurse in Norway. She was born April 25 the year 1969 in Katy. Her father, Emil Erich Zellweger, is a Swiss-born engineer. They were married in the year 1963. Drew Zellweger was Renee's older brother. He is an executive in the field of marketing who was born February 15, 1967. Renee was part of the drama club in high school when she became attracted to acting. She enrolled in an acting class at University of Texas (Austin) and began to consider acting as a career. She was determined to pursue acting upon graduation. But, Hollywood can be difficult to make it into and so Renee decided to stay in Texas and audition for roles around Houston. At the time, she was able to get roles in films such as Reality Bites (1994), and Empire Records (1995). While filming the sequel, Texas Chainsaw Massacre: The Next Generation (1994) she made friends with Matthew McConaughey, another Hollywood newcomer. McConaughey was working on an initiative at the time which Renee was interested in. She she auditioned, and was awarded the role in the movie Love and a .45 (1994), which earned her enough critical praise that she decided to move to Los Angeles. Her biggest break came when she was cast in another role in The Whole Wide World (1996). Cameron Crowe was busy casting his next film Jerry Maguire (1996),starring Tom Cruise. Crowe was thinking about the actresses Bridget Fonda (Camden Diaz), Winona Ryder (Winona Ryder) and Marisa Tomei, when he was able to see Zellweger's performance from The Whole Wide World (1996). He auditioned Zellweger, and felt certain she was the perfect Dorothy Boyd. Renee was able to continue her huge success in small independent films. She received further praise from critics, and was assured that she was capable of re-entering big-budget Hollywood films. Meryl Streep co-starred in One True Thing (1998). She also played a part in Me, Myself & Irene (2000) and starred opposite Jim Carrey, and soon after that, she started dating Jim Carrey. Bridget Jones's Diary (2001).
