Sarah Chalke
Sarah Chalke was conceived in Ottawa,
Ontario, Canada on 27 August 1976. Her parents are Angie Chalke and Doug
Chalke. Sarah is the middle child, having an older sister, Natasha Chalke, and
one younger, Piper Chalke. Sarah made her acting debut in a made-for-TV film,
City Boy (1992). In 1993, after her debut film, she auditioned for the part of
"Becky" in the TV show Roseanne (1988). The show was searching for a
replacement after Alicia Goranson quit the show to go to college. Sarah completed
her high school graduation in the year 1995, when she was filming the season
1994-1995 of Roseanne (1988). In 1994, Sarah co-starred in the film, Ernest
Goes to School (1994), along with Jim Varney. In 1996, Sarah was a part-time
actress in two movies: Robin of Locksley (1996) and Stand Against Fear (1996)
where she was a cheerleader with the name Krista Wilson. In 1998, a year after
Roseanne (1988) ended, Sarah was asked to play a character in a TV show called
Nothing Too Good for a Cowboy (1998). Based on the show Nothing Too Good for a
Cowboy (2000), Sarah also played a role in the show. The role was taken over by
Becky on Roseanne (1988) from Alicia Goranson in 1993. The actress said she'd
like to retire from acting and pursue a degree in. (2001) (1993-1997) She
played the younger sister of Sara Gilbert on Roseanne (1988) however she is
younger in real life. Participated in 1999 CCMA Awards ceremony, and was
presented with the award for the best single. In September of 1999, appeared in
local Vancouver performances of the theater, at age eight. Can speak fluently
in French as well as German. She is a volunteer at a hospice facility for
terminally ill children and works with the Audrey Hepburn Children's Fund.
Chalke is a cook who enjoys cooking with friends, especially Thai and sushi, as
well as playing guitar. She also likes to ski (she is an instructor) kayaking,
snowboarding, kayaking and reading. Her father is a lawyer, as are her parents
mediators. They also run an agency for child adoption. Her parents took her to
China to coordinate the adoptions of multiple orphans.
