Anne Burrell

Anne W. Burrell is an American TV chef and former instructor at the Institute of Culinary Education. Anne W. Burrell hosts on Secrets of a Restaurant Chef for the Food Network, as well as co-hosting Worst Cooks in America. Anne Burrell, a Food Network presenter with her distinctive spiky blonde hair and a bubbly personality, reveals simple to learn techniques and eliminates intimidation of restaurants dishes in her series Secrets of a Restaurant. Chef Burrell studied and worked in some of the most prestigious New York restaurants. He also battled Iron Chef America and the cuisine of Italy. As a child in the upper reaches of New York area, Chef Burrell discovered a love for cooking and food at a young age. The Culinary Institute of America has sparked her interest in restaurant management after she earned the English and Communications degree from Canisius College Buffalo NY. I enjoyed every moment during my time at The Culinary Institute of America she says. It was hard to study how to do, or even work hard enough. Following graduation, Burrell worked at La Bottega del 30 in Tuscany and La Taverna del Lupo (in Umbria) as she attended Umbria. She also attended the Italian Culinary Institute for Foreigners. The time she spent in Italy helped her to understand and appreciate Italian philosophy and culture, which has had an impact on her own food and culinary experience. Burrell has served on the Garden of Dreams Foundation Advisory Board which brightens the lives of children facing difficulties. She also serves as an Juvenile Diabetic Research Foundation celebrity ambassador, where she is an advocate for juvenile diabetes awareness. Burrell is often a guest presenter at conferences, and she travels throughout the United States as part of her mentorship role. Anne has always been grateful she had the opportunity to share her love of her life, and her passion for cooking, with people around the world.
